Yablunytsya or also known as Yablonitsa or Yablunytsia is surrounded by the beautiful Carpathian Mountain Range of Ukraine. Yablunytsya is a popular and delightful village for visitors to the region who want to reside in a smaller village and explore the mountains and forests as well as ski at Bukovel which is only 10 kms from the village. Yablunytsya villagers are extremely friendly and always welcome guests into the village with open arms.
The village overlooks Chornohora Mountain Range (literally: Black Mountain), is the highest mountain range in Western Ukraine in the Outer Eastern Carpathians. It is adjacent to the Gorgany range. The highest peak of Chornohora is Hoverla (2,062 m) with other high peaks including Pop Ivan (2,022 m) and Petros (2,020 m). The mountains are made of flysch rock. The major part of the range forms the watershed between the Prut and Tysa River. The lower parts of Chornohora are inhabitated by Hutsuls, whose primary occupation is herding.
